How much does a bathroom remodel cost in Southern California?

The three tiers describe how much changes. A hall bath refresh covers a new vanity and top, toilet, tub or shower surround tile, fixtures, lighting, mirror, flooring and paint, with the exhaust fan and outlets brought up to code. A full remodel or tub-to-shower conversion adds a new waterproofed shower pan, custom tile with a niche or bench, frameless glass, and updated plumbing and electrical in the existing locations. A primary suite adds a larger shower, a double vanity, a freestanding tub and premium tile, glass and fixtures, all within the existing layout.

Within each tier, material choices move the number most. Standard porcelain tile is the most cost-effective, while natural stone, small mosaics and large-format panels take more material and labor. Frameless glass costs more than semi-frameless or framed doors. Stock vanities and fixtures cost less than semi-custom or custom pieces. Conditions behind the walls also matter. Past leaks, rotted subfloor or old galvanized pipe show up only after demolition, so we show you what we find and price it before doing any extra work.

Our remodels keep the toilet, shower drain and vanity where they are. That holds cost down and keeps the project out of permit territory, since moving a drain on a slab is permit work. We keep our projects within the scope that does not require a building permit, and we tell you at the first visit if what you have in mind would need one. Pricing does not change by city. The same ranges apply across Riverside, San Bernardino and Orange County, and you get a written estimate before work starts.
