What happens at a free in-home remodeling consultation?

The short answer

At a free in-home consultation, the contractor walks the space with you, listens to what you want, takes measurements and talks through budget, materials and timing. It is also when scope comes up early, including whether an idea would need a building permit. Afterward, you receive a written estimate before any work begins.

The visit usually starts with a conversation. Tell us what is not working in the room now, how you use it, and what you would like to change. Photos or saved ideas help, even rough ones. Then we look at the space together: cabinets, plumbing locations, flooring, lighting and the condition of what is there, and we take the measurements needed to price the project accurately.

Budget and scope are part of the same talk. We will share the typical ranges for your type of project and explain which choices move the cost up or down. We also check whether your plans fit the work we take on. We keep our projects within the scope that does not require a building permit, and we tell you at the first visit if what you have in mind would need one.

After the visit, Legacy prepares a written estimate that lists the scope, materials and price, so you can review it on your own time. For kitchen remodels, we also provide 3D renderings so you can see the layout and finishes before construction starts. There is no cost for the consultation and no obligation to move forward. Call (844) FOR-LGCY to schedule one.
